Watch the Final Trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II

hunger gamesSadly, we’ve arrived to the end of the Hunger Games movie saga. As November 20 nears ever-closer, the reality remains that we’ll soon have to bid farewell to Katniss, Peeta, Gale, and the rest of the rebels from District 13.

While I’m sad that this franchise is ending, I am still SO EXCITED to see the final film in theaters. The final poster looks amazing, and I’m obsessed with Katniss’ red outfit (though I still don’t think she’ll actually wear something that flashy in the actual film, it’s still badass). If you’re as excited as I am, you can already purchase tickets for opening day. Some theaters are even hosting Hunger Games events, where they’re showing all three existing films as they lead up to Mockingjay Part II. Check with your local theater to see what Mockingjay festivities are being held near you.

Of course, the reason we’re all here is to check out the final trailer for Mockingjay Part II, so take a peek:

I am so thrilled to see what Mockingjay Part II has in store for us. It seems like each Hunger Games film is better than the last, and I really feel like this film will be no exception. I can’t wait to see the Capitol traps in action–though the bits we’ve seen in trailers make it look out of control–I mean did you SEE those muttations? Hella creepy! All in all, it looks like this will be an explosive end to the franchise, and I cannot wait.

What do you think about the trailer? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and be sure to get tickets to see Mockingjay Part II when it hits theaters on November 20!

Everyday Cosplay: Katniss Everdeen

We’re all getting excited as we get closer to the date The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II releases in theaters. Yesterday, the film released this AMAZING banner of a fallen statue of President Snow. BEHOLD!

SO FLIPPIN AMAZING. Right???

Since seeing this, I’ve been SUPER amped about Mockingjay Part II, but we still have to wait a bit before the film hits theaters (November 20, to be exact). So to help pass the time, I thought I’d pull together a Katniss everyday cosplay look. After recently getting a chance to try out the AMAZING Superfit Hero Leggings (body positive, adorable, and made for the many different sizes of women out there–seriously, they’re amazing and I’m gonna talk more about these guys later so stay tuned!), I decided to create a couple looks based on her Catching Fire style, specifically her District 12 look with that ADORABLE shawl and her look in the Quarter Quell arena. Check it out:

What are some of your favorite Katniss and Hunger Games-inspired looks? Can you master the infamous Katniss braid (and if so, CAN YOU TEACH ME?!??) Will you be watching Mockingjay Part II when it hits theaters on November 20? Let me know what you think in the comments!

It’s here, you guys! The first full-length trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II! SDCC News: Hunger Games and Doctor Who

San Deigo Comic Con is in full swing, and with it comes new trailers! As we all figured yesterday, we got a message from Panem’s District 13 in the Hunger Games panel today. Here it is, for your viewing pleasure!

UNITE

I’ll be honest, I was hoping for a bit of movie footage, but OH MY WORD, this is such an awesome clip! Where do I sign up to fight for District 13, because that propo GOT ME PUMPED! Seriously, is it November yet???

Of course, this isn’t just a Hunger Games party. We ALSO were blessed with a trailer for Doctor Who season 9! LOOK!!!

Guys, I don’t know what I’m more excited about, the return of Missy, the Doctor donning shades and playing the guitar, or him shouting, “I’m the Doctor, and I save people.” I don’t think Twelve will ever be as fluffy as Eleven, but I think we’re going to get a kinder Doctor this season, and I”m ready for it.

Also, can we just talk about Maisie Williams bit in the trailer? I thought she would be a random, one-off companion, but it seems like she knows the Doctor. Who is she? Is she a regeneration of River Song? Is she the Doctor’s granddaughter from Classic Who? Is she the Doctor’s daughter? Is she another Time Lord?

Let me know what you think about the trailers and your guesses to who Maisie Williams will be playing. Mockingjay Part II hits theaters on November 2, and Doctor Who returns to the BBC and BBC America on September 9!

STAND WITH THE MOCKINGJAY

Citizens of Panem! We’ve got something awesome stuff coming soon on the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II front. Check out this video that I just received:

OH MY GOSH, you guys! I cannot WAIT!!! Chances are good that this “message from District 13” will be delivered during the Hunger Games panel at noon tomorrow during SDCC. It’s unclear what exactly the message is, and what we can expect to be revealed, but all I can think is:

freaking excited

Earlier in the week, posters of each major cast member sporting war paint were released…

Panem Unite Collage

…so I wasn’t sure if we’d get any more sneak previews as we headed into SDCC. I’m so glad we did though. In addition to the cast posters released a couple days ago and the “incoming message” alert, they also released a completely AWESOME new poster for the film, featuring The Mockingjay herself. Check it out:

Katniss Poster

Can I just say how much I am loving Katniss’ red outfit? I highly doubt she’ll actually wear something as loud and gaudy as a bright red Mockingjay outfit in the actual film, but even still, I love it so much. I mean, the red setting off Snow’s white throne, and the tagline “the fire will burn forever”? Come on! IS IT NOVEMBER YET?!? If you’re having as hard of a time waiting for November (or even for the District 13 announcement we’re expecting tomorrow), you can check out the Pillars of Panem interactive display wall honoring the Panem revolutionaries. Until then…

Are you excited for Mockingjay Part II? What do you think of the new posters? Are you as excited for the District 13 message as I am? Let’s talk Hunger Games in the comments!

First Teaser Trailer for Mockingjay Part II

Get excited, nerds! Here’s our first look at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II!

This looks AMAZING, and right now I’m still riding so high on the excitement of a new Hunger Games movie that I’m not even thinking about the heart-crushing stuff that will be in the final film (like those freaking silver parachutes…).

But let’s not think about that now! Let’s focus on this AWESOME trailer, and how it looks like this franchise is continuing to get better with age. Did you catch that glimpse of Gwendoline Christie as well? I can’t WAIT to see more of her!

What did you think of the trailer? Let me know in the comments!

If We Burn, You Burn With Us: Final Mockingjay Part I Trailer

November 21 is inching closer and closer, and with that comes the release of the final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I. This movie looks amazing. Each trailer they’ve released for this movie is better than the last, and November 21 can’t get here soon enough!!!

I’ve got the trailer for you below. Be sure to let me know what you think of it in the comments!

Mockingjay First Official Trailer!

Well, kids, it’s finally here! The first official trailer for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I was released over the weekend. It’s short and sweet, but it’s definitely getting me more and more excited for November!

Prior to the release of the trailer, the Hunger Games team had released two “addresses” from President Snow about the need for unity for Panem. You can see the first one here, and the second one here. I have to admit, even though I’m stoked to finally have an official trailer for the movie, I’m really hoping the release of the trailer doesn’t mean the end of the One Panem campaign from the Capitol. The first two addresses from Snow were so brilliant and brought the propos from the book to life in a really unique way, actually letting the audience feel like they were a part of the story. These movies have done a great job of creating a really interactive experience for the audience, from marketing to actually creating a Capitol-inspired fashion line, Capitol Couture. You can see this and more on the official movie website.

We’ll see if we see more addresses from President Snow in the future, but for now, check out the Mockingjay trailer, and get excited for the movie to hit theaters on November 21!

You Need to Watch the New Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I Teaser NOW!

president-snow-all-white-mockingjay

The “teaser” trailer for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I was released today, and it is so cool. I suppose “teaser trailer” isn’t the best thing to call this, since it actually doesn’t promote the movie (which makes it that much more awesome). Instead, we’ve got President Snow (flanked by hijacked Peeta *sobs*) addressing us–the citizens of Panem–encouraging us to remain loyal to the country, but more importantly, to the Capitol. I absolutely love it, and it has just made me that much more excited for Mockingjay Part I to come to theaters in November.

If you’re curious about an actual trailer, I’ve heard that the speculation is the first official trailer will drop at San Diego Comic Con. Until then, check out the first, amazing Mockingjay trailer right here (also if you want to see movie stills or check out the awesome movie site, go here).

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I First Look!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

November 21st cannot come soon enough!

A couple of days ago, Buzzfeed posted an article with several shots from the set of Mockingjay Part I. I’ll post a couple here (all pictures are linked to the Buzzfeed article).

They look important and intense.

And Cressida (Natalie Dormer) is there, shaved head and all.

All while some peacekeepers get a little bit of rest.

SO. EXCITED.

If those pictures don’t slate your thirst for Mockingjay news, you can head over to the newly-launched Huger Games Exclusive Website. On the site you can watch an interview with Julianne Moore who plays President Coin, you can read a round table discussion with the filmmakers, read about bringing the book to the big screen, get some exclusive first looks at the characters and actors, and you can check out the animated movie poster.

There isn’t a trailer out yet, but it should be coming out very soon. Initial rumors had it slated for release in April, but that obviously hasn’t happened. Though I must say, with the tragic death of Philip Seymour-Hoffman (Plutarch Heavensbee) happening in the middle of filming the two Mockingjay films, I’m really surprised that there haven’t been more delays on this film.

I was really impressed with how much of an improvement Catching Fire was from Hunger Games, so I’m really hoping the movies continue that upward trajectory. The whole “final movie in two parts” thing has me rolling my eyes a bit (seriously, EVERY popular series doesn’t need to have a two-parter final film, guys), but you can still bet I will be first in line to see both Mockingjay films.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m about to go waste my life playing around on the Hunger Games first look site, and scouring the internet for pictures from the Mockingjay set.

Are you as excited as I am for Mockingjay? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
