The Great Christmas Exchange 2014

I took part in the super fun Great Christmas Exchange again this year. I absolutely love this gift exchange. Last year, the exchange introduced me to two other fabulous women, Codi and Allison, so I couldn’t wait to see who I was paired with this year. This year’s match was Kristin. Kristin is a nurse, and she runs an incredibly honest, sweet blog with her husband, Tristan. Her Pinterest page is also awesome, and filled with amazing recipes, craft ideas, and decorating tips. She’s certainly got great style, and it was so much fun to “stalk” her.

Great Christmas

I sent her a pink scarf, a silver chunky bracelet, and a set of three notebooks. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t consider–if only for a moment–keeping all of that myself. I’ll be honest, I did actually end up getting myself one of those bracelets. It was just too cute!

Unfortunately, my Secret Santa didn’t come through. It’s okay though. The holidays are nutty for everyone, and it is quite easy for something to fall through the cracks. Whileย I might not have gotten anything from my “secret elf”, but I have a pretty awesome husband who got me two things that have been on my geeky wishlist for quite some time now: The Handbag of Holding and the Han Solo in frozen carbonite business card holder.

Solo

I’m a bit obsessed. The handbag is amazing and has SO MANY pockets. Seriously, you can hold ANYTHING in that thing. The business card holder is also AMAZING. It’s surprisingly heavy ย (which makes sense–it has Han Solo in it), but it is a really slick business card holder. They are both must-haves for ANY geek.

So while it’s a bit of a bummer that my secret elf didn’t come through, I’m so happy that I got to cyber-stalkmeet the awesome Kristin and send her a little Christmas cheer! Be sure to follow the hashtag #GreatChristmas2014 and check the Oak and Oats and Elah Tree sites to hear everyone else’s story from the Great Christmas Exchange of 2014!

Kendall! I love what you sent and the fun things Brett picked up for you! I will be emailing you though about not getting a gift! That just makes me sad!

Love, love, love this! And I must say, I’ve been living in that scarf since I got it in the mail and I keep a notebook by my bed, one in my purse, and the other in our kitchen for spontaneous thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sorry your secret Santa didn’t come through!
